The Union is first and foremost a democratic organization. All members are fulltime or parttime employees of Nova.
The Union can only offer its services to its members. All memberships are handled confidentially.
Members of the Executive Committee of the Union do not receive any payment for their union work.

 

Eligibility for membership

The constitution of the Nova Union of Teachers states that the following qualifications apply to people wishing to join the Union:

1.Any persons employed by Nova and approved by the Union are eligible for membership.

2..Any persons deemed by the Executive Committee to represent the interests of management or any other persons who the Executive Committee decide to exclude, are not eligible for membership.

 

How to apply for membership

2.Click submit after you fill out the Online Membership Form or print out the Fax Membership Form,fill it in and fax it to us at 03-5748-1564.

3.We will send you a bank furikomi and a postal furikomi form and explanations of how to use them to pay your dues.You have to choose which one suits your needs the best.

4.Send in your dues. Note that we will not send a receipt.If you choose to use the postal furikomi your stub from the post office is your receipt.

Note: The Nova Union of Teachers reserves the right to turn down applications for membership. All membership applications are examined and then approved or denied by the Executive Committee of the union.

 

Benefits of membership

By joining the Nova Union of Teachers you receive the following benefits:

1.Consultations in English and representation through various facilities.

2.Your Voice in individual and collective bargaining.

3.Legal protection to protest and strike.

 

Duties of membership

By joining the Nova Union of Teachers you accept the following obligations:

1.Attend the general meetings of our union.

2.Support fellow members in dispute.

3.Take opportunities, when possible, to recruit new members.

4. Keep your dues paid up to date.

 

Union Dues

Our union dues are ￥2500 per month, counting from the date of receipt of your application.

We strongly urge you to join for a at least a year.

If you choose to use the postal furikomi form we ask you to pay your dues for at least 3 months(￥7500) in advance.

 

How to use a Furikomi form

1.The bank furikomi form is a money transfer form for regular monthly payment. Blank forms can be obtained from us or at any Sumitomo Bank branch.

Fill out the union's account number details and complete your own personal account information in the spaces provided.

Take the filled out bank furikomi form to the bank counter.The bank charges a fee of ￥157 per month.

2.The postal furikomi form is a postal money order form. Blank forms can be obtained from us or at any post office .

Fill out the union's account number details and complete your own personal information in the spaces provided( this enables us to update and confirm our membership records with your most recent address, phone number, and place of employment).

Take the filled out postal furikomi form to the post office counter with your payment.The post office charges a fee of ￥110.
